The magnitude-5.8 earthquake, centered nine miles south of Mineral, Va., which struck the East Coast on Aug. 23, 2011 at 1:51 p.m. caused considerable damage in the metro D.C. area. While most people know about the structural issues with the Washington Monument and National Cathedral the structural damage to area residences has been less publicized. Kingston, given its reputation for structural expertise, was able to remedy a homeowner’s structural damage on a four story historical town home near the Washington zoo.
