Our Process
“It’s all about you.”
Our guiding principle in developing our successful design build process is, “It’s all about you.” This starts from the very first phone call in listening and being attentive to what you are trying to do and where you are coming from.
We have learned that every client is unique with different needs, tastes and budgets and when that’s kept front of mind the proven design-build paradigm that we have perfected over the last four decades works extremely well.
Our goal is for you to be extremely satisfied with your experience in working with our company knowing that both of us working together have found the best solution for you. That means your lasting satisfaction in knowing that you experienced across the board excellence and value from design, construction and superb customer service.
Following is our design build process from an actual customer experience.
The process begins with a complimentary in-home consultation. We observe your current space issues, listen to your remodeling goals and discuss possible design and budget solutions.
Case Study:
Setting: A 1920’s row house located near the historic Mt Pleasant neighborhood of Washington, DC.
Homeowner Needs/Wishes:
Main Level: The main level of the home was lacking natural light and was segmented into six rooms connected by a series of doorways. the kitchen was accessed via a modified coat closet with a door cut into the side. The traffic flow was poor and entertaining was difficult given the closed off kitchen and “bottle necking” around the coat closet. There was a lack of storage especially that accessible to the petite client. there was no powder room on the first floor which is the main living level. The homeowner confessed that she rarely spent any time on the main level as she found it “depressing” and usually pent her time at home in the back upstairs office.
Second Level: The second level was comprised of a few small bedrooms all lacking adequate closet space and two small extremely dated bathrooms with clunky radiators. Cumbersome wardrobes shrank the already cramped bedroom spaces. The master bath lacked storage and the homeowner had resorted to using the shower stall for housing additional bath items. The homeowner especially hated the view of the guest bath toilet from the main staircase.
